Woodwind of Dunmow is a group of musicians who came together in 2008 under the leadership of ex-military man and clarinettist Fred Payne. The group is now led by Jerome Cacace and plays a range of tunes and styles, ranging from the original marches we did at the start to popular songs and theme tunes along with some ragtime, jazzy, and classical numbers.

We meet to rehearse weekly in Great Dunmow, Essex and perform regularly at most of the retirement and care homes in the area during the course of the year.

Occasionally we play at village fetes, charity functions, and meetings such as the Alzheimer’s Society and Blind & Housebound Club.

We also do a round of Christmas concerts at the local homes, joining up with the Dunmow Singers.
